Garden Of Hope's Mission

The belief of Garden of Hope (GOH) is “USE WHAT YOU’VE GOT”, (Exodus 4:2) we will use our passion, compassion and creativity to comfort, encourage and empower those infected and affected by HIV-AIDS. We believe that God uses our gifts, talents and resources to touch the lives of others. Our mission is to teach that HIV is not a death sentence, fight against the stigma of the virus, exhort people to be tested, and exemplify that as Christians we can live abundant lives in Jesus Christ no matter what the circumstances. We desire that all grow in intimacy with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and may all know Him in the fullness of His resurrection power!

Classic DTS and Family Ministry School Graduation

Thursday night was the graduation of the Classic DTS as well as the Family Ministry School and to add even more excitement to the evening Peter McArthy was the speaker and worship leader for the evening. After the short presentations, handing out of certificates and commissioning of both schools we went into a time of worship and this continued in to a time of more prayer for the DTS students completing their school. We experienced a powerful time in Gods presence as students knelt around the cross with others laying hands on them in prayer. The evening continued as Peter and the team led us in more worship to God. (A.P)

Praying for the different spheres of society

Joining with the rest of YWAM worldwide we prayed for the different spheres of society this morning during base intercession time. Influencing these spheres are one of the objectives of the University of the Nations. As we continued praying into these areas we felt God lead us to pray for those students and staff that feel called into one of these spheres in the future. The rest of us surrounded them as we commissioned them into their callings. For more information about the University of the Nations and the spheres of society please visit http://www.uofn.edu/ (A.P)

YWAM Worcester takes part in the World day of Prayer.

This past Sunday the Troubadour DTS students had the privilege to be part in the World Day of Prayer event held here in Worcester. Sixteen Churches worked together to arrange this event for the town. The meeting took place in the Historical Dutch Reformed church opposite of the Worcester Town Square. The Troubadour DTS students put together a short drama about how people pray in the different countries they represented. There was some one from Korea, Switzerland, Kenya, England and even South Africa. They ended by saying portions of the Our Father prayer from the start to finish in the different languages they represented. There were also some of the YWAM Children that were part of a separate dance organized by one of the churches. YWAMers from the Worcester base joined in with the churches in town as we prayed together with the rest of the World. (A.P)

Impatc World Tour

Four elements of entertainment , crowds of thousands , 12 unforgettable days and one Almighty God. The impact world tour is finally coming to South Africa. Lindani Mazibuko, one of the organizers of the tour says that they are expecting a radical change in the people who will attend this crusade of extremeness. The elements of the tour will be made up of extreme sports, cultural dance, music shows , and hardcore athleticism. Each of the events will have it’s own way of bringing the message of God over to the different crowds. The event will start on 16 April 2010 and will end on 4 May 2010. Twenty eight events will be held in 15 different communities across South Africa, starting in Worcester. The goal of the organizers is to spread the gospel to about 5 million people and see individuals come to Christ. “That’s what we exist for, to proclaim the gospel. We use entertainment to draw the crowds and lead them to Christ” said Lindani. The ministry is currently in need of office materials, equipment, housing for the impact staff and transport. If you can contribute in any way, please contact Lindane at lindanim@impactworldtour.com.

“If you preach the Gospel and do not relate it to the issues of the day, you’re not preaching the gospel at all” – Martin Luther

Soccer Outreach Ministry!

Seung Jae, founder of the soccer ministry, saw a need to keep teenage boys away from forming gangs and starting to use drugs.

To reach the 20-30 boys, ranging from Grade 5 to Grade 10, Seung Jae has started a soccer ministry in Nuy Valley on Thursday evenings. Seung Jae and his co-worker, Brazilian coach Heriveldo, are reaching these boys at their level, with something that they are passionate about, soccer. Seung Jae and Heriveldo bring the Lord into the game by praying before and after the games and by a small Bible study at the end.

These boys are local children from the farms in the surrounding areas. Their parents work on the farms and often leave their children alone at home. Some walk up to one and half hours to get to the soccer. The boys enjoy the opportunity to interact with peers of their age and to experience God in a sport that they love.
